Of course, one of the focal points of the video was to showcase three new Pokemon coming in Gen 9, namely Fidough, Cetitan, and Paldean Wooper. These creatures are all compelling for their own reasons, with Fidough being a Fairy-type puppy pocket monster, Cetitan being the first new whale Pokemon in some time, and Paldean Wooper being the first Ground/Poison hybrid since Gen 1. While the new Pokemon shown in the trailer stop there, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature many returning Pokemon that the video included in some capacity.

All Critters Shown in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Pokemon Presents Trailer
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature several returning Pokemon from past generations, with some being featured in the first and second trailer for Gen 9, and many more appearing in the third video from The Pokemon Company. Because the third trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was much longer than past videos, it ended up showing many more Pokemon than the first and second trailers did, both new and returning. Overall, the third trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet showed a lot of Pokemon, with the new ones, confirmed or possible returning ones, and confirmed ones from past trailers amounting to a total of 125 pocket monsters. It’s very likely that the base Pokedex for Gen 9 will feature over 400 Pokemon, with at least 100-to-110 new ones, including regional variants and other possible forms.
With the games coming in three months, it’s possible that The Pokemon Company will share another trailer or two, confirming more returning critters and highlighting more new species of the Paldea region. In other words, fans who haven’t seen their favorite critters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet yet should still keep an eye out.
