Resident Evil 2 was one of one of 2019’s best horror games and fans of the genre and series went crazy over the refinements and addition of Mr. X, the tyrant that chased players around the police station. The inspiration for that character came from RE3’s Nemesis, so it will be interesting to see how Capcom interprets that character in a modern video game. Like with Resident Evil 2, fans of the series are getting very excited to get their hands on the game and rush to the store to pre-order.

The game is already available for pre-order at most, but not all, major retailers both physically and digitally. And also like the game that came before it, Resident Evil 3 is offering pre-order bonuses and a special Collector’s Edition. The bonuses and add-ons are pretty similar to what was offered for RE2 last year, but whichever platform players may be planning on purchasing the game on, there is a way to pre-order and be rewarded for it.
Resident Evil 3 Pre-Order Bonuses
The pre-order bonus for Resident Evil 3 is actually identical to what was offered last year for Resident Evil 2. Preorder RE3 and players will get a download code for Classic Costume Pack, which includes skins for Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira based on the character designs from the original PS1 game. These were quite a funny dose of nostalgia for fans of the PS1 games when they were included in RE2.
It’s also worth noting that while the standard price for Resident Evil 3 is $60, there have already been pre-order deals on the game that have discounted its price for a limited amount of time. It is worth keeping an eye out before pre-ordering to check if there is a flash deal that will lower the cost. If that isn’t a concern, the current pre-order options are listed below.

Resident Evil 3 Collector’s Edition
The special edition of Resident Evil 3, dubbed the “Collector’s Edition”, is only available at GameStop and only for Xbox One and PS4. This edition comes with loads of extra content and collectibles, so hardcore Resident Evil heads who want this limited edition are advised to pre-order at GameStop. PC players are unfortunately out of luck for the time being.
The pricey Resident Evil 3 Collector’s Edition comes with a copy of the game, the Classic Costume pack, and an 11" tall Jill Valentine statue based on the model of the character that is in the remake. It’s a modern take on Jill’s classic look with her blue shirt gunbelts, leg holster, and pistol. This edition also comes with a Raccoon City Double-Sided Map, a Digital Double Album Soundtrack, a Collector’s Artbook. All of this material is contained within a special edition S.T.A.R.S. Item Box. The Collector’s Edition will run buyers $179.99 for everything contained.
The Jill Valentine figure is the biggest draw here, as it was designed to be similar to the Leon figure that came included with the pre-order for Resident Evil 2 last year. Of course, any Resident Evil fan will surely want the Item box as well, a reference to one of the most iconic elements of the old school games in the series. It is unknown how many copies of this Collector’s Edition are being made, but these types of packages are often quite limited and may sell out before the game releases. Even the $180 price tag will not deter the franchises’ biggest fans from making sure this edition goes fast.
