One of the four cards is also holographic, which should make the offer attractive to collectors, as some holographic cards can be quite valuable. Scalpers will likely also have their eyes on the cards, but the fast food outlet has put restrictions in place to try and ensure that all the cards are not nabbed before fans get to enjoy them. The promotional offer comes just in time for the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which fans eagerly await.

All the Cards Available in the Pokemon Happy Meal
Each Happy Meal contains four Pokemon cards, an instruction sheet, a Coin, a Spinner, and a card box. With these items, one can play Match Battles, a game where the last player with a Pokemon in play is victorious. For many fans, however, the main appeal is the cards, and there are fifteen Pokemon cards to collect. Holographic variants of these cards are also available, so collectors should look out for them for the duration of the promotional offer, which runs until September 6. The fifteen Pokemon cards are:

Fans looking to purchase a Pokemon Happy Meal will have to be quick, as they tend to sell out quickly, sometimes due to scalpers nabbing the sought-after cards and reselling them on eBay for exorbitant prices. This occurred in early 2021 when a Pikachu card from a McDonald’s Happy Meal sold for a whopping $500. McDonald’s has taken steps to mitigate scalping by requiring customers to purchase a Happy Meal before purchasing an additional toy, and only one additional toy can be purchased per transaction, regardless of how many Happy Meals are purchased.
A Pokemon Year
It has been a good year for Pokemon fans, and it continues to get better. Early 2022 brought with it Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which took players back in time to the Hisui region where they could learn more about the mysterious history of Pokemon. Players can also look forward to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in November, which will serve as the latest mainline entry in the series. In the Paldea region, players will discover a new phenomenon called Terastallization, which allows Pokemon to change their form and sometimes even their Type. The impact this will have on battles will be interesting to see.
Hopefully, the restrictions McDonald’s put in place will ensure fans can get their hands on a few of their favorite cards before they are all snatched up. Fans of Pokemon cards can also look forward to the Halloween-themed Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle, which will be available from September and will include several Ghost-Type Pokemon such as Gengar, Mimikyu, and Polteageist. Already, some retailers have been spotted selling the special Pokemon bundles.
