According to the listing, the AEW Fight Forever video game will include the promotion’s special match types like the Casino Battle Royale and the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. AEW fans will be able to participate in these matches both offline and online, utilizing a variety of legends and “brand new, high-flying AEW stars.” A full roster list is unavailable, but the leaked box art does shed some light on who players can expect to play as in the game.
The AEW Fight Forever leaked box art reaffirms some superstars who were previously confirmed for the game, like Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. It also features the likes of Britt Baker, Jade Cargill, and Jon Moxley, three of the promotion’s most-recognizable talents. Front-and-center is none other than CM Punk, who is the current AEW World Champion and quite easily the promotion’s most popular wrestler.
The AEW Fight Forever video game roster will include many other wrestlers besides the ones featured on the box art, of course. Fans can count on the game featuring the biggest stars on the roster, but it will also include at least one wrestler who is not even part of the promotion anymore. Kenny Omega, who has had a hand in the game’s development, has confirmed that Cody Rhodes will be in AEW Fight Forever despite the fact that he has since jumped ship to WWE.
These leaks suggest that a proper reveal for AEW Fight Forever could be coming sooner rather than later. With THQ Nordic lined up as the game’s publisher and assets like these now appearing online, it seems AEW fans will be learning a lot more about the game in the very near future.
AEW Fight Forever is in development for release later this year.
